Adventure Kings Camp Fire BBQ Plate
For me one of the greatest things about camping is cooking over an open fire. Your favourite chair, an esky full of cold beer, along side a stream or river if possible and of course an open fire. I seriously could sit there all night, and the best way to cook the evening meal happens right there in front of you whilst your relaxing and enjoying the sites and sounds of the Australian bush.
We purchased an Adventure Kings Camp Fire BBQ plate back in late 2015 and so far it has copped quiet a work out and the sturdy construction of the plate leads me to believe there’ll be many more to come.
When set up the BBQ plate is 270mm high with a length of 590mm dissected in two with one half hot plate and the other half a grill, when combined with the 440mm width there’s plenty or room for the steaks as well as the potato chips.
We also use the hot plate as a stand for our Oztrail cast iron camp oven and cast iron jaffle maker as well. Depending on the heat of the fire we either put the hot plate over the fire with the camp oven on top or move it off to the side and use it to put the oven on when we remove it from the fire to serve up.
For a measly $39 the Adventure Kings Camp Fire Plate represents excellent value for money, is easy to stow away when travelling courtesy of the heavy-duty canvas bag that it comes with and provided you give it a liberal coating with cooking oil it doesn’t suffer to much from corrosion. I spray it with an aerosol based cooking oil whilst hot and then pack it away the next morning. Simple.
The Adventure Kings Camp Fire BBQ plate is available from the 4WD Supacentre.
